3 : BODY / CHASSIS

Any
recognised production body style. Firewalls and floorboards may
not be chopped, channelled or sectioned. Convertibles, panel vans,
bakkies and cars may compete in this class providing all requirements
are met as per OEM. All doors must be fully operative. No replica
or reproduction may compete in this class, i.e. Lotus 7, Cobra's,
Model-T Ford's, T-Buckets, etc. Removal of bumpers is not permitted.
Additional factory produced spoiler kits, wings, etc., are allowed
provided that they are street legal and meet all other requirements,
i.e. ground clearance etc. No aftermarket lightweight replacement
panels allowed, i.e. bonnet, doors, boot lid, etc. Any stock automobile
chassis for car body used must be retained.

4 : BRAKES |

All
vehicles in this category must be equipped with four-wheel hydraulic
brakes operated by a foot-mounted pedal in the conventional manner.
A back-up brake system is mandatory on all vehicles, i.e. handbrake. |

5 : BUMPERS |

These
may not be removed. Must be as per original OEM. |

6 : COOLING SYSTEM |

A
stock-type water pump is required as per OEM. Catch tank/overflow
must be securely fitted and completely leak proof. |

7 : DIFFERENTIALS: (Welded spider gears are not permitted under
any circumstances). |

per original OEM. Narrowed rear ends and locked rear ends are not
permitted. Refer to the Safety Regulations regarding axle retention.
Fabricated rear linkage systems are not permitted. |

9 : ELECTRICAL |

Each
vehicle in this section must have a full working wiring harness
as per OEM. All lights and charging systems must be fully operational
as per OEM. Starter motor must be retained. |

: ENGINE |

One
production type engine only. Take note that all rotary engines will
be classified as 6(six) cylinder engines. Only OEM fitted Superchargers
and turbochargers are permitted. No engine modifications allowed.
Nitrous Oxide is not permitted. No engine swop is permitted. Engines
may only be replaced with same make and type as was supplied by
OEM. Minor modifications will be allowed, i.e. aftermarket/performance
air cleaners and intake systems. Maximum overbore of cylinders are
.060 inches and/or 1.5mm. Engines may not be stroked. |

seats to be in place as per OEM. A minimum of two front seats and/or
one bench seat (bakkies) as a minimum is allowed on vehicles fitted
with roll cages only. |

: SUSPENSION FRONT AND REAR |

Full
automotive-type front and rear suspension is required as per OEM.
Each point of suspension must be equipped with at least one effective
shock absorber with a minimum of 25mm movement in each direction.
Cutting or machining of suspension parts is prohibited unless required
to fit OEM upgrades (i.e. brakes, etc.). Raising or lowering permitted
but attention must be taken of minimum ground clearance requirements.
(Refer to the Safety Regulations). Back halving of the vehicle is
not permitted. |

: WHEELS AND TYRES |

Tyres
must be street legal and must meet Road Ordinance regulations at
the completion of the day's racing, (i.e. not less than 1mm over
100% of area). Only DOT approved tyres with
grooves will be permitted. No re-treaded, re-moulded or re-grooved
tyres will be permitted. No racing slicks are allowed. Tyre
pressure should be as per manufacturer's recommended pressure guidelines. |

: WINDSCREENS AND WINDOWS |

These
must be in good condition. All windows must be fully operational.
All glassware must be stock as fitted by the manufacturer. No Plexiglas
will be allowed unless it can be proved that it was originally fitted
by the manufacturer. |
